Weight Watchers has successfully assisted men and women with their weight-management goals for the past 40 years. Currently, more than 1 million members are serviced weekly in 30 countries, in over 35,000 group support and education-focused meetings worldwide.

A comprehensive study of the Weight Watchers Program revealed that Weight Watchers Lifetime Members report that they have maintained an average of 84% of their weight loss 2 years after completing the maintenance phase of the program. About half reported having maintained 100% of their weight loss after 2 years (Weight Watchers makes no claim that these results are representative of all participants in the Weight Watchers Program). Compared to individuals that try to lose weight on their own, those participating in the Weight Watchers program lost more weight and felt great (Source: Obesity Research, January 1999). People who joined a weight loss program with someone they know – like someone they work with – were not only more likely to lose weight, but were more likely to lose more weight, and were also more likely to keep it off than those who joined alone (Source: Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1999, Vol. 67, No.1, 132-138).
